Welcome Friends! Come on in! Sit a Spell…

Hi guys! We are Sarah & James Clerval. We are Florida Pickers & UPCYCLERS! For those who don’t know what that is, we find old items and redeem them. We make old things New! Afterwards we either use them ourselves, give them to someone we know has a need or our FAVORITE  thing to do….CLICHE DRUM ROLL… We resell them! We work mostly on antique furniture. Refinishing, and restoring each piece until it is made like new, or however we envision the piece. James does most of the  refinishing work since he is a carpenter, and I have an architecture background, and know quite a bit about furniture. Plus I’m a lady and know what us ladies and men with good taste like! Sunday’s after our house church ends, we get in the truck as a family and pick items around our home town. After our “Curbside Christmas” as we often call it (Term I picked up by some friends when I lived in Boston) we both decide what we want to do with each item. Once we agree, sometimes we don’t, James goes to work,  I take process pictures, then I find the buyers. We honestly make a great team.

Early in our relationship we decided that we wanted to get married sooner than later. We were very good friends and as sappy and cliche as it sounds, we knew we were meant to be! We dated 6 months, got engaged April 18th and got married a month later May 30th 2015. If you take a look at our cover photo, That is the A frame cabin that we stayed in for our Honey Moon. It is where our story as a couple truly began as well as pickers. Knowing I had found a guy super thrilled about staying in an airbnb instead of a 5 star hotel gave me so much peace and delight. I had found my one. The place it self made me grateful to God for fashioning us both uniquely and I know he lead me to find such a gem in the first place. It was  filled with old retro items, a record player with a bunch of old vinyl, retro band posters. To top it off the owners make home made olive oil, and soap. Our time at the Olive Grove  is where we truly saw how God’s finger print was all over our marriage and lives.

Unfortunately we do not own the property. I have left a link for anyone who wants to check it out. Fast forward to now, we have been married almost 4 years. We have two boys, Malachi & Levi. Our boys make life so much sweeter! We LOVE meeting new people, and we love to encourage others! I believe we both have the ability to see the BEST in others!  This page is just a small glimpse into our life journey. Our story is a testimony of God’s grace and his sweet goodness. We are dreamers and loving listeners. We are passionate writers who LOVE to tell stories. Funny ones mostly. Especially ours! This page was first suggested by my husband James. He thought it would be something fun for me to do.

“Even if nobody were to ever read it, you’ll love it and that’s what matters.”

Aww! GUYS, I found me a GOOD one!

I listened to my hubs freaking awesome advice. I started this blog in 2017, but I’m choosing to really go forward with it this year 2019. So let’s get to it!  You’re obviously here, and you’re a somebody! Here are our lives for you to read. Hope we bring you JOY. That’s the mission of our FAMILY and our hope is that you realize, that you too are made for more.  We both come from very different backgrounds. Very much like our findings we were used up, broken, and needing a life lift. Jesus made us new, and has done a lot of handy work within our hearts. I HOPE that our lives will inspire you in such a way, that you REACH OUT! We would love to get to know you. truly. We believe that we all have been created to live out our wildest dreams!

Who ever you are…
Where ever you are… If you feel like no one else believes in you, please know,

God does, & We believe in you.

It’s been nice spending time with you so far. Sit a spell, or feel free to look around. Mi casa es su casa.
